Once upon a time when I was a pensive youngster, I became known for often proclaiming “I wish it was three weeks from now!” in response to stressful (read: new) experiences. Like the start of a new school year. Look out! That alone could give me a stomach ache for weeks ahead of time. So you can imagine my angst leading up to today: my first day in a new position at work. Ah!
Yes, it is with the same company. And yes, it is with people I already know. And yes, it is a perfect fit for me. And yes, it is a promotion. An extremely good situation. But by the simple fact that it is DIFFERENT THAN MY PREVIOUS ROUTINE, I was a ball of nerves and quivery tummies when I awoke this morning.
That is, until I got dressed in the perfect spring addition to my wardrobe… Friends, meet my new Whispering Forest Maxi Dress from Anthropologie. Whispering Forest, meet my friends…
Paired with my favorite Frye Harness Boots, a distressed leather jacket and an overly girly scarf, I was chic yet comfortable. And ready to face a new day with new new challenges and new adventures. Even the homeless lady yelling at me on the subway couldn’t bring me down! Oh, snap!
If only my childhood self could have fathomed that there would come a day that a perfectly put together outfit would help qualm my anxious fears and silence my wish that it would be three weeks from now.
And all this time I’ve been satisfied with well fitting new boxers…I had no idea fashion could do such amazing things. Thank you for expanding my horizons!

I have them in a medium brown tone and I love them – they go with everything and are absolutely the most comfortable shoes that I own… next to my slippers. But I have not stooped so low (yet) that I wear those out of the house. HA!
