FAVORITE FRIDAYS

This afternoon as I was literally jogging to the ladies washroom in the five minutes I had between meetings, an associate who I have not seen in quite a few months stopped me to say hello. “Have you been on vacation? You look so refreshed!” she said, as I could hardly hold back a snort. Really? My hair was braided in an effort to fight the humidity riddled air, I was wearing flip flops to save my real shoes from the torrential rain (you know how I feel about that, although at least they were Rainbows and not FIT FLOPS! And no, that is not a typo. Fit Flops are a real thing. An epidemic, really.) and I had burst into tears on Thursday morning when I woke up only to discover that it was still not Saturday. It was that kind of week. And yet, I could have kissed her for saying that I looked refreshed, bright and ready for the day. I guess a two-venti-Chai-latte-on-an-empty-stomach-buzz can give you that special glow.

Thank goodness it is now the weekend… Any fun plans, lovelies?

{The newest addition to my shoe closet, the Malmo clog boot. Comfortable yet oh so chic. They are my current favorites… for this week at least.}

{And this will soon be an addition to my coat wardrobe. This design by Wilfred at Aritzia is making me very happy as I dream about cool fall days and then white winter mornings as I bundle up in this bell-sleeved camel outer layer. Upon moving to NYC from SoCal, I quickly discovered the necessity of a fantastic coat to not only fight off the winter chill but to make a statement on the streets… since many times it is the only thing people see of your outfit. I think this will do just fine. Oh, and then there is this sigh inducing option for my boy.}

{I also added to my wall landscape in the living room by hanging this papier-mache animal sculpture by West Elm. It is the perfect nod to my boy’s love of the outdoors yet with my preferred modern twist. Oh, and no animals had to perish for it either!}
